Performance Dance Groups

BALLET TROUPE

Footnotes offers a ballet performance group that places emphasis on Ballet and performance.  Members of the Ballet Troupe will perform in the community at events such as special dance performances similar to this spring’s Aladdin event. This year they will dance at Christmas time to a special performance of The Nightmare Before Christmas and in the spring 2020 they will do a special performance to the Mary Poppins.  Placement in a troupe class will be based on age and ability.  Troupe members will be required to take another ballet class in addition to Troupe classes.  Troupe classes will meet for 30 to 45 minutes. We have a Petite Ballet Troupe for ages 3 and 4, a Mini Ballet Troupe for ages 5 thruXX, a Junior Ballet Troupe for XXX and a Senior Ballet Troupe for Pointe students.

Performance Teams

The Footnotes Dance Teams are performance groups who integrate jazz and hip-hop moves. The dance teams perform at LCSC basketball games, local parades and other community events such as the tree lighting at Locomotive Park. Performances vary in number and length from year to year. There are four performance teams based on their ages and abilities. These are NOT competition teams. All team dancers must be enrolled in at least one other Footnotes dance class.

Mini Dance Team

The Mini Dance Team is for ages 6 through 8 years old. Admission to this team is by teacher recommendation. There is no audition. There are two Mini Dance Teams. Mini Team 2.0 is for students who have been on team for a minimum of one year and placement is made by the instructor. Teams will be provided with leggings and a shirt.

Youth Dance Team

The Youth Dance Team is geared for students 12 years old and younger. Admission to this team is by audition only. Teams will be provided with leggings and a shirt.

Junior Dance Team

The Junior Dance team is for dancers 15 years old and younger but with a higher dance skill level than the Youth team. Admission to this team is by audition only. Teams will be provided with leggings and a shirt.

Senior Dance Team 

Senior Dance Team is for dancers 18 years old and younger with a strong dance background. Admission to this team is by recommendation only. Teams will be provided with leggings and a shirt
